Understanding Women and High-Functioning Anxiety

Something that we, as women, know we do the most. We have careers; we manage everything at home, we manage the kids, we cook, we clean. We do it all. Which is fantastic, but all the stress of balancing all those responsibilities adds up and comes with a price. You may not know that women are twice as likely to be diagnosed with anxiety than men. Most women, in my opinion, are battling high-functioning anxiety.  Now, high-functioning anxiety is not an official diagnosis in the DSM; it is characterized as generalized anxiety disorder. The truth is women, more often than not, fit the definition of high-functioning anxiety disorder.
